Signs and symptoms
An age-related condition that first starts to become noticeable at
around 45 years old. Customers complain of problems associated with
close work (reading small print etc) especially in poor light. Some
patients who have not worn spectacles before, may be concerned that it
is a serious problem.
Cause
Changes in the eye make it increasingly difficult to bring close focus
onto the retina, causing the image to focus behind it.
Remedy
There
are several ways to correct presbyopia all based around a more positive
lens. Single vision, bifocal or varifocal lenses can all correct
presbyopia. Each has their own merits and drawbacks.
