Home Visits

altSusan R Bowers has for a number of years offered a home visiting service for the housebound.Susan personally visits nursing or individual residential homes one day of every month to conduct domiciliary sight tests and adjust or fix patients’ spectacles.

 

Susan owns portable equipment that is used specifically for home testing as she is determined not to lower the standard of her examination to a level that she deems unsatisfactory. Mrs Bowers carries approximately 25 frames for patients to try out.

There aren’t many Optometrists that devote time for home visits and as a result Mrs Bowers’ domiciliary appointments become booked up very quickly. For this reason Mrs. Bowers is only able to offer this service to those patients in and around Coventry who cannot travel to the Tile Hill practice.

Patients who are over 60 years old, Diabetic, on Income Support or who have a family history of Glaucoma are entitled to a free NHS eye examination. The cost of a Private home visit is £70.00.
